Some people asked if parking would be a problem. Well, a lot depends on the time of arrival. If someone wishes to drive and find parking, it would be best to arrive at least 30 minutes early to drive around in search for a parking space (especially if you are not familiar with NYC). Some members who drive to worship have a pretty good experience in finding parking. We're sure everyone else should not have any problems.
As a reminder: look very carefully at the parking signs and any yellow stripes on the curbs. You must be 15 feet of a fire hydrant in order to be compliant and watch out for light grey colored areas used for bus stops. If parked on a light grey area you may be ticketed for blocking a bus stop. Also, parking on a meter would probably have its disadvantage. You would have to constantly check the time for the expiration. In addition, new scanning technology allows police officers to know exactly when your meter would expire. You can expect to see an officer next to your car 1 minute before the expiration time.
Good news, if you are driving a pickup truck you no longer need to have a Commercial plate. City regulation, in the past, required pick-up truck owners to obtain commercial plates but later the lawmakers gained some common sense in this issue (This had been in effect since May 2005). However, this excludes pick up owners from parking in any commercial zone space. This means if you park any kind of vehicle (pick-up truck, van, etc.) in any commercial parking space zone, without a commercial plate, you will be given a hefty ticket.
At any rate, if there are any problems or if any doubt arises, paying for parking space in a parking lot will always be cheaper than a NYC parking ticket. As an alternative, there is a parking building on 102nd Street between Broadway and Amsterdam. If you arrive before 10:00 AM on Sunday it is $6 for most of the day. Bible Study class and Worship service are conducted within 3 hours.
You may take the No. 1 train to 103rd Street Station on Broadway and walk up 1 block East to Amsterdam and the Hostel.
Once inside, please refer to the signs on the right and/or on the left directing you to the room where our Worship and Bible Study takes place.
Sunday Bible study and Worship: Double doors to the right. Walk straight through and ahead on the far end, past the restrooms to the right, you will see another entrance with double doors.
Tuesday evening Bible Study: Double doors to the left next to the information center. You may need assistance in having the doors opened as these are locked magnetically. As soon as you enter through turn right until you meet the entrances of the staircases. Take the Entrance on the right and walk one flight to the first floor and make a right. Pass the double doors and on the first door to your left you will see the room where the Bible study takes place.
